Utilities Major Defines Enterprise Architecture for Web-Based Development
Infosys partnered with a US-based utilities major to establish best practices and enterprise-wide application architecture standards for web-based development.
However, it faced the challenges of:
- Architectural fragility and complexity with silos due to disparate technologies
- Adopting a Service-Oriented Architecture and interoperability between .NET and J2EE platforms.
Adopting an interview-based engagement model, Infosys assisted the client in:
- Envisioning a future-state architecture based on IBM WebSphere for web-enabling mainframe applications, Microsoft .NET for thin and thick client web applications and a messaging, web services and integration bus-based architecture for application integration
- Defining a decision matrix that identified the development and deployment tools required to support the architecture
