When I was applying for internships, India was not really an option, but when I was offered to work on an interesting project in one of the best IT companies in the world, I just knew, I had to accept. Moreover, it was the perfect opportunity for me to glance at India as an emerging economic player on the world scene. And clearly I was not disappointed!
I was involved, for my internship, in a project with SETLabs, which is the (R&D) unit of Infosys. This project consisted in programming an interface between a computer and a robotic arm which would allow the arm to move to any point in space and press the keypads of a phone. This is a part of an innovative phone application.
My stay in India taught me many things. I learned that this country had a lot potential to offer to the world, especially in the IT sector that has an immense pool of qualified talent. My project allowed me to gain a great deal of experience in robotics and especially C++ programming. And last but not least, I had the chance of visiting amazing places like Kerala, Hampi, and the Taj Mahal, have a great interaction with my mentors and my buddy, and of course have a wonderful time with interns from all over the world.
