Global Automotive Manufacturer Streamlines HR Processes Across 25,000 Employees

The Client

The client is a leading automobile manufacturer employing over 25,000 employees in manufacturing and distribution locations across the US, Canada and Mexico.

Challenges

The various affiliates of the client ran disparate HR, Benefits & Payroll systems in different languages and in multiple currencies. This led to process and application redundancies and operational complexity. The client launched a global initiative of process standardization and integration. This initiative aimed to transform its HR department into a world-class organization that would enable it to:

  • Improve productivity through a robust and unified HR-Payroll system
  • Eliminate manual processes and consolidate back-office processes
  • Accelerate global decision-making
  • Reduce costs by leveraging a shared, centralized technology environment

Our Solution

Infosys partnered with the client in the highly complex global initiative, using its proven processes and Global Delivery Model to:

  • Define Global templates and common processes across all affiliates
  • Manage end-to-end implementation of a multi currency, multi language HR, Benefits and Payroll system
  • Create a global platform to consolidate HR, payroll and benefits processes across all North American affiliates
  • Implement PeopleSoft v8.8 — Payroll, Global Payroll, HR, Benefits, Resume Processing, eCompensation, eBenefits, eRecruit, ePay, eProfile, eDevelopment, Directory Interface and related Self-Service modules
