Kakal is a member of the Executive Council and Senior Vice President and Global Head of the Enterprise Solutions group. He is also a member of the Board of Infosys Consulting Inc.
Kakal joined Infosys in 1999 and has served in several capacities. He was one of the first to focus on package implementation and related services in Enterprise Solutions. Kakal established Infosys, Hyderabad in 2000 and was its head for four years. Under his leadership, Hyderabad was recognized as the best managed center.
At Infosys, as part of the founders of the Enterprise Solutions group, Kakal started the Oracle ERP practice. Later, he incubated the CRM and Microsoft Dynamics practices. He also restructured the group to offer end-to-end solutions in Supply Chain, Human Capital Management and Enterprise Application Integration. Under his leadership, the Enterprise Solutions group has grown to be the largest and best managed unit at Infosys, winning internal awards for excellence and being recognized for leadership by analysts for SAP and Oracle ERP services.
Kakal established partnerships with package vendors such as SAP, Oracle, Sterling Commerce, TIBCO, etc.
Kakal holds a Mechanical Engineering degree from Bangalore University and an MBA in International Business from Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok. He also holds a graduate diploma in Materials Management from Indian Institute of Materials Management.
