At the request of the Dealer Council, Toyota has been working to expand Dealer Daily integration to more Dealer Management Systems (DMS) Providers. Significant progress has been made toward providing dealers with additional options. Since the launch of the Dealer Daily Open Access project, Toyota has partnered with two pilot DMS Providers (Auto/Mate and DealerTrack). Working together, the project team has successfully completed the development of eighteen interfaces and has deployed them to around fifty Toyota and Lexus dealers.
In addition to Auto/Mate and DealerTrack, TMS has begun the planning process to work with currently approved DMS solutions offered by Reynolds & Reynolds and ADP. These efforts will allow those providers to continue to offer the integration capabilities that their systems currently have; as well as eventually migrate their solutions to the new Dealer Daily Open Access technology. All other full-service DMS providers will be invited to become certified to integrate with Dealer Daily. This will allow all dealers to take full advantage of the efficiencies provided by these new interface capabilities, regardless of their DMS of choice.
The technology used in Toyota's Dealer Daily communications system is based on standards set by the Standards for Technology in Automotive Retail (STAR), an organization that promotes the use of non-proprietary technology.
