The Client
The client is one of the world's largest oil field services companies. The company provides a full range of oil and gas services, including seismic surveys, drilling, wire line logging, well construction and completion and project management. It also provides reservoir evaluation, reservoir development and reservoir management services. It is working towards developing new technologies for reservoir optimization.
Business Need
The project involved maintenance of critical products, resolving Business Critical issues, fixing performance as well as functionality issues, providing enhanced product versions based on the field requirements, migrating to latest technology as per the market needs.
Challenge
Infosys had to increase the efficiency, accuracy, performance and Graphical User Interface of domain intensive reservoir simulation software including pre and post-reservoir simulation software. The applications had to run and give best performance in all the platforms (Windows, SGI, IBM and SUN) with a common source code.
Our Solution
Infosys worked with the client for maintenance of their oil and gas domain intensive pre and post-reservoir simulation products. The combination of Infosys domain and technical persons in a team helped to effectively implement the solutions.
