Infosys, Waters Host Briefing on Options Symbology Initiative

Broker-dealers and investment firms must consider the Options Symbology Initiative (OSI) an opportunity to review their software practices and replace legacy systems with advanced applications.

At a breakfast briefing co-hosted with Waters magazine in New York, Infosys' experts discussed strategies to ensure prompt OSI implementation at minimal remediation cost:

  • Adopt a holistic data quality approach to identify non-standard, inaccurate, duplicate, and not referenced options
  • Streamline the processes of software development, change management and configuration management
  • Develop a robust internal testing system and governance strategy to facilitate scripted industry testing
  • Deploy a dedicated test environment for implementation and post-implementation testing
  • Communicate implementation status with the internal and external stakeholders regularly
