Drive Innovation through Process, Metrics and Governance

Product innovation is an end-to-end process that bridges functional silos across the enterprise. According to Infosys' expert, innovation must be driven by strategic portfolio councils or planning councils, where leaders from the supply chain and new-product introduction groups, and from information technology and finance, work together and facilitate collaboration.

In an article published on Supplychainbrain.com, Infosys' expert says that product lifecycle management must integrate the product development process and align it with the needs of customers. He adds that customer needs management helps gauge the effectiveness at every stage of the innovation process, from ideas to specifications, specifications to production and from production to new product launch.

Infosys believes that process, metrics and governance are the primary drivers of innovation. During this process, technology must manage the pipeline of product innovation.
