Supply Chain Synchronization
Commonly known as the 'out-of-stock' (OOS) problem, a stock-out is just one side of the story for a retailer. Excess inventory (EI) can be as much a problem as having no inventory at all. Therefore, any perspective on OOS is invalid unless made in the context of a product(s) under consideration. Infosys' Supply-Demand Synchronization (SDS) solution recognizes a retailer's constant struggle or inability to accurately match supply with demand. Using supply chain metrics and visibility enabled through its SC Visibility solution, SDS identifies potential OOS/EI events ahead of time to enable proactive intervention by the retailer.
