A knowledge vacuum is being created due to rising attrition levels and the retirement of its highly-skilled workforce, gradually increasing operational costs and impacting competitive... advantage. Preventing knowledge loss is critical not only for the railroad industry but also for old-economy companies. Traditional methods of conserving knowledge are not proving effective, increasing the need for a comprehensive approach to the problem.
