Digital Convergence
Digital Convergence is increasingly prevalent today. With digitization of content, advent of IP networking and powerful consumer electronic devices, there is no distinction between voice, video, images and text. Voice is moving from telephone lines to VOIP; video is shifting from broadcast to IPTV and similar Internet driven consumer technologies; mobile phones are now capable of not only supporting voice, but also support access to Internet and TV services. End users can mix and match applications and features in any service, be it their mobile Internet, DSL or 3G. This opens up new possibilities for both users and service providers.
Digital Convergence is indeed enabling new applications and services not possible before and opening up new possibilities both from the service provider perspective as well as from the end-user standpoint.
