EBAC gateway: Sensors

The Building Management System (BMS) is a distributed control system housed within a building that's used to control and maintain various energy and security related devices.

The Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) has been evolved as a contemporary sensing system. Initially, WSN research was concentrated on various military and environment based applications. However, in the recent past, WSN has emerged as a simplistic technology for managing and controlling devices in buildings.

WSN and the BMS technologies have evolved independently and hence cannot be communicate with each other. WSN is based on Zigbee and BMS mostly on BACNet, which is a data communication protocol for wired networks. EBAC Gateway, developed in Infosys, helps in connecting WSN and BACNet based devices to communicate with each other.
