Ingenious is the annual B-school competition conducted by Infosys in India. Conceptualized in 2008, the competition is aimed at discovering the most innovative management students in the country who are bound to become the leaders of tomorrow.

Ingenious 2022 will mark the 14th edition of this competition.

This year, Ingenious is a team-based competition spread over three rounds with the Grand Finale to be held at Infosys headquarters in Bangalore. The competition will be open for students exclusively from executive courses and second-year management students of all specializations from eligible business schools in India. You can participate in Ingenious in a team of 4.

Eligibility and Team Rules

Eligibility

  • The contest is open to all 2-Year full-time management students from the campuses (refer to the eligibility list on Unstop ) who are 18 (eighteen) years of age or older
  • Students pursuing 1-Year full-time Executive MBA (from eligible institutes) are also eligible
  • The participants need to register in teams of 4 (four) from the same college provided that each member of the team meets these eligibility criteria
  • The right to permit or restrict participation is at the sole discretion of the organizer
  • Each partnered college will be permitted to register a maximum of 50 teams

Terms and Conditions

An individual applicant or team participating in Infosys Limited’s ("Company") Ingenious 2022 (the "Event") shall be referred to as a "Participant or Participants". By registering to participate in the Event, the Participant/s acknowledge and agree to the following terms and conditions (hereinafter referred to as "Ingenious Terms and Conditions").

  1. Each Participant shall participate through a single team account for the Event. The company in its sole discretion may disqualify any Participant who participates/attempts to participate in the Event through multiple accounts.
  2. Participation in the Event is free and no registration fees will be charged before or after the Event.
  3. The Participant is a final year student from a business school/university that is eligible to participate in the competition under partner business school category. The list of eligible colleges is available here.
  4. During registrations, 50 teams from a single business school will be considered. Any addition or reduction of teams will be solely at the discretion of the organizing team of Ingenious at Infosys.
  5. Each Participant, from a partner business school must register for the Event, by filling the registration form on Infosys Ingenious 2022 by Infosys! // Unstop (formerly Dare2Compete) Incomplete, false, erroneous, fraudulent, forged, duplicate and tampered information will not be accepted and Participant submitting such information will be disqualified.
  6. The Event will be conducted in three rounds:
    • Round 1 (Saturday, 10th September 2022) All the registered teams will have to attempt the online simulation round and cross different levels to solve real-life problems and showcase their business acumen.
    • Round 2 (Monday, 12th September – Saturday, 17th September 2022) Shortlisted teams from Round 1 will be given a case study. The teams need to work on the case and submit their analysis and solutions in a PDF consisting of 5-7 pages.
    • Final round (Saturday, 1st October – Saturday ,20th October 2022) The top 12 shortlisted teams from Round 2 will have to submit a detailed PPT of the B-Plan consisting of 8-10 slides in the given window of 15 days.
  7. Event entries will be judged by a "Judging Panel".
  8. The Judging Panel shall select the winning entry/entries for the Event within its sole and exclusive discretion. The decision will be communicated to the Participants
  9. Participants represent and warrant that the assets used or developed during the Event do not infringe on the intellectual property or proprietary rights of any third party, including, without limitation, any third party, patents, copyrights, or trademarks.
  10. All intellectual property rights vesting in the entries shall vest exclusively with Infosys.
  11. All entries for the competition shall be considered as Infosys Confidential Information until the winners are declared for the respective Rounds.
  12. If and when a Team is declared a winner in the Final Round (Round 3), the Participants of that Team must acknowledge and agree, in consideration of entering this Event, that (a) he or she will not develop same or similar solution corresponding to the entry or disclose the same or similar entry to any third party, and (b) all intellectual property rights in the entries submitted by such Participants shall vest exclusively with Infosys.
  13. All information and platforms made available by Infosys to Participants during or in connection with the Event shall remain the sole and exclusive property of Infosys. The information and platforms should not be stored, reverse-engineered, copied, deduced, extracted, or replicated in any manner or medium whatsoever by the participants.
  14. The Participant may be disqualified on grounds that include, but are not limited to, unlawful, obscene, or inappropriate actions, fraud, dishonesty, misappropriation or infringement of the intellectual property of others and/or any failure to comply with the Event Terms and Conditions.
  15. Infosys shall not be liable to the Participant for any damages or claims that might arise or occur during or in connection with the Event.
  16. The Participant agrees to immediately notify the Company in the event that he/she becomes aware of any unauthorized use of any Participant’s identity or any other breach of security related to the Event.
  17. The Participant acknowledges that data transmission over the Internet or any data storage system is not completely secure. Company does not take responsibility for the security of content and subsequent use of the content submitted by Participants through the Event account.
  18. The Participant shall indemnify and hold the Company harmless from and against any third-party claims arising from any act committed by any Participant during the event.
  19. The Participant agrees that any pictures taken within the course of the Event may be used by Infosys for future promotional, marketing, publicity, and recruitment purposes, and Participant waives any claim to remuneration for such use.
  20. The Participant hereby agrees to comply with all copyright laws worldwide in the use of Ingenious and to prevent any unauthorized copying of the contents. Company does not grant any express or implied rights under any patents, trademarks, copyrights or trade secret information.
  21. The Participant agrees to participate in the Event in accordance with the applicable rules, regulations, laws and policies of the Company.
  22. The Participant shall not in any manner reveal confidential or proprietary information of any third party.
  23. The Participant shall not transfer their rights to access to another person unless they have obtained explicit consent from the Company in writing to do so.
  24. The Participant shall acknowledge that the Company may, at its sole discretion, monitor, remove or edit any content that the Participant may contribute. Company may also pursue remedies available to it under law for any violation of these terms and conditions.
  25. Subject to the terms and conditions set forth here, the Company grants the Participant a non-exclusive, non-transferable, limited right to access Ingenious and the content therein. The Participant agrees not to interrupt or attempt to interrupt the operation of International Association of Privacy in any manner.
  26. The Company reserves the right to change these terms and conditions at any time on its discretion. Your continued use or access to Ingenious after the posting of any amended terms and conditions shall constitute your agreement to be bound by any such changes.
  27. The Participant understands that Ingenious is a business school competition conducted by the Company. Details pertaining to the manner in which the competition will be conducted, and specificities of the Event, dates and other details are sent to each eligible university/college and Participant, which each Participant is aware of. The terms and conditions here along with the Event details shared with colleges and universities constitute the terms and condition for the Event.

Intellectual Property Declaration

By registering for Infosys Ingenious, I declare that

  • I am the original author of the Submission and any associated form of Intellectual Property Rights therein. Submission would include any information or material created, developed, or submitted as a participant during the Event.
  • I hereby unconditionally and without any restriction, agree to grant Infosys Ltd, its affiliates, and its subsidiaries all rights, title, and interest in and to the Submission including all Intellectual Property Rights and moral rights to use, reproduce, adapt, modify, publish, distribute, publicly perform, create a derivative Submission from, and publicly display the Submission.
  • No confidential information or unauthorized usage of any source code, documentation, data points, or any other information relating to any third party is used or included in my Submission. If I use any third-party material or open-source edition, I will comply with the associate license and furnish related complete and accurate information & details to the Event organizer.
  • I shall indemnify and hold Infosys Ltd harmless from and against any third-party claims arising from my act of submission committed during the 'Ingenious' Event.
  • The data sets and platforms made available by Infosys Ltd to the participant remain the sole and exclusive property of the organization and should not be stored, reverse-engineered, copied, deduced, extracted, shared, or replicated in any manner or medium whatsoever by the participant.

By registering for Ingenious, I acknowledge and agree, in consideration of entering this Event, that:

(a) I will not develop or submit the same or similar Submission in any other competition, or similar Event organized by any third party, and

(b) All intellectual property rights in the entry submitted by the participant shall vest exclusively with Infosys Ltd., and

(c) I have read and understood the terms, and I understand that any non-adherence to the above could lead to strict legal action including immediate disqualification from the 'Ingenious' Event and backlisting from any future event/collaboration held by Infosys Ltd.

Privacy and Protection

Infosys Limited having its registered office at Electronics City, Hosur Road, Bangalore – 560100, including its subsidiaries, associates and affiliated companies (collectively referred to as “Infosys”) has a requirement to collect and process Personal Information (“PI”) or Sensitive Personal Data or Information (“SPDI”), together “Personal Data”, from you (the “you/your”) in accordance with the Information Technology (Reasonable security practices and procedures and sensitive personal data or Information) Rules, 2011 (“Rules”). The term PI as used herein shall mean any information that relates to a natural person, which, either directly or indirectly, in combination with other information available or likely to be available with a Body Corporate, is capable of identifying such person.

Personal Data elements:

For Ingenious competition, Infosys will collect following personal data:

  • Team name, Full Name, Email ID, Phone Number, Gender, Type, Domain, College name, Differently Abled (only for participants appearing for the final round in order for providing any specific assistance), Country, password, Course, Course specialization, Program type.
  • Scores and assessment reports of your performance in the event.
  • For Winners- bank details including Account holder Name, Bank Name, Account number, IFSC code and Cancelled cheque.

Purpose of processing:

Your personal data will be processed for below mentioned purposes:

  • For registration to participate in Ingenious Event.
  • Bank details only for the winners to transfer the award money into their bank accounts.
  • To display your details (such as name and college/university) on the platform if you win.

Data recipients:

Your personal data will be accessible to authorized internal Infosys teams such as Recruitment, Finance, etc. and authorized vendors of Infosys.

Data transfer and Storage:

Your personal data will reside on our authorized vendor’s cloud servers hosted in India and Infosys servers in India. \

Security measures:

Infosys adopts reasonable security practices and procedures, in order to protect your personal data from unauthorized access, unlawful processing, unauthorized or accidental loss or destruction.

Retention period:

Personal Data that is no longer required to be retained as per legal and business requirements will be deleted in a secure manner.

Your rights:

You are entitled to access and rectify your personal data, at any time. These rights may be exercised by sending us a message at privacy@infosys.com.

By registering for this event, you are confirming that you have read this Privacy Notice and consent to the above data collection and processing of your and your team’s personal data by Infosys. You also agree that you have taken consent from your team members before sharing/providing personal information on their behalf for the purpose of registration, including the team picture.
