Linux Migration Assessment Suite (LiMAS)
LiMAS is a web-based intelligent tool that conducts Portfolio Assessment (for organizations intending to migrate to Linux) and Capacity Planning (to ascertain application requirements) Inputs from these two phases are used to generate the TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) and ROI (Return on Investment) reports to help the client make the migration decision.
The Infosys' Linux Migration Assessment Suite (LiMAS) performs a comprehensive and holistic assessment of any Linux adoption project:
- LiMAS Supports all major Unix platforms - Solaris, HP-UX, IBM-AIX, SCO-Unix etc
- Unlike any other tool in the market, LiMAS encapsulates all stages (Portfolio analysis, Capacity planning and TCO-ROI) required for a detailed analysis of a proposed Linux migration project
- LiMAS is designed to intelligently interact with users through simple questionnaires that identify the applications that should be run on Linux: the questions are generated by the answers given by the user.
- Once the application portfolio analysis is complete, the LiMAS portfolio analysis engine analyzes the application for Linux capability. If LiMAS determines that the application has no Linux equivalent, it presents the user with alternate options.
- When applications are identified, LiMAS's capacity planning engine interacts with the user to identify business objectives for each application. LiMAS then performs capacity planning with hardware options from different vendors.
