Cummins transforms order management to enable self-service

Infosys implemented an order management system to streamline the global supply chain network at Cummins Power Generation, a subsidiary of Cummins Inc. Oracle Profit Magazine reports on 'Frontier', the transformation program that improved collaboration, enabled self-service, and helped sense and respond to demand.

The Oracle E-Business Suite R12 solution standardized procurement, manufacturing, and inventory and warehouse management. It also improved visibility across manufacturing and supply chain processes, and enhanced order fulfillment as well as customer service.

"Oracle E-Business Suite makes the connections from one system to the next and automates the flow of information… through the supply chain cycle, into the manufacturing cycle, and then into the shipping cycle. In most cases, we build products that are custom-configured to specific requirements," said Bruce Carver, Vice President of Cummins Business Services and CIO of Cummins.

Cummins selected Infosys, an Oracle Diamond level partner, for the transformation based on rich experience in enterprise resource planning (ERP) implementation for manufacturers, mature program management approach, and the Infosys-Oracle Innovation Center that co-creates solutions for clients.
