Direct Wines delights customers with Microsoft Dynamics AX solution

Infosys implemented a wine plan management solution to drive online sales at Direct Wines, a global wine retailer. The Manufacturing & Logistics IT magazine, a leading trade journal, reports how Infosys’ Microsoft Dynamics AX-based solution automated catalogue-based order-to-cash processes and reduced order processing time.

The Microsoft Dynamics AX 4.0 platform was customized to enable flexibility in payment options, expedite shipment, and comply with country-specific taxes and shipment regulations. Infosys’ solution enhanced scalability, interoperability and agility, while reducing the total cost of ownership.

Direct Wines realized significant benefits -

  • Increased sales: The new customer service interface reduced call time by up to 30 seconds per call and increased sales per hour of outbound calls by approximately 10%.
  • Tax savings: Accelerated business processing enables Direct Wines to reclaim sales tax faster. The company recovered almost US$ 300,000 in sales tax.
  • Higher degree of automation: Direct Wines saves 20 person-hours every week through efficient wine substitutions management. In addition, the order-to-cash cycle time from processing online orders to fulfilment became faster by 47%.
