Infosys Concludes 13th Edition of Ingenious for B-School Students Virtually

Bangalore, India – November 03, 2020: Infosys has successfully concluded the 13th edition of Ingenious, its annual business school competition in India. Conceptualized in 2008, the competition is aimed at discovering management students in the country with the most innovative strategic solutions for complicated business problems.

Ingenious 2020 received 4,498 team registrations from 13,494 management students across the country. Final year management graduates participated in teams of three in the competition either from partner business schools, which comprised 80 premier MBA colleges, or as wildcard entries from other MBA colleges in India. This year, Ingenious was a team-based case study competition spread over three rounds. Each team picked up a case study from a set of 12 unique business challenges coming from industries including aviation, automobile, insurance, manufacturing, sports, and telecom. Of the total 220 teams who made it to the second round, only the top six teams with the best solutions qualified to present a business solution to an esteemed panel of jury members. Each finalist team was assigned two mentors from Infosys to help them prepare their business solutions.

The grand finale of Ingenious 2020 was conducted online on Infosys’ own Live Enterprise virtual collaboration platform. Mr. N.R. Narayana Murthy, Founder, Infosys graced the occasion by sharing meaningful insights on innovation, leadership, building sustainable organizations, and learning with all the finalists. The jury comprised Dr. Anju Seth, Director, Indian Institute of Management Calcutta, Mr. Deepak Padaki, Executive Vice President and Chief Risk Officer, Infosys, Dr. Rohan Narayana Murty, Founder and Chief Technical Officer – Soroco and Fellow – Harvard Society of Fellows, Mr. Shishank Gupta, Senior Vice President, Infosys, and Mr. Sojwal Vora, Vice President, Supply Chain and Procurement, Manipal Hospitals.

Mr. Sonam Wangchuk, engineer, innovator, and education reformist was the Chief Guest at the event. He addressed the finalists and felicitated the winners.

The winning team from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai was awarded a cash prize of INR 5,00,000 for their case study solution on airlines industry. They also won the popular choice award for best presentation. Members of the winning team are –

The runner-up team was from Great Lakes Institute of Management, Gurgaon and they were awarded a cash prize of INR 2,00,000. All the finalists along with other top performers of the competition also received a pre-placement interview opportunity with industry verticals at Infosys.
