Gizmos for some, productivity tools for Infosys CXOs
What does it take to ensure that a US$ 4 billion global software company functions like clockwork? Among other things, a passion for gadgets. Live Mint discovered that Kris Gopalakrishnan, Chief Executive Officer, Infosys, and S.D. Shibulal, Chief Operating Officer, Infosys, are 'Gadget Gurus' who reconfigure devices to organize their lives.“I buy a new one (cell phone) every week,” says Kris Gopalakrishnan. Kris shares his passion for gadgets with Shibulal. They are often seen exchanging notes about their latest gadgets between meetings and figuring out how to retrofit them to meet their needs.
In fact, Shibulal has been fascinated with gadgets since his childhood. In high school, he built motion and sound sensors that would turn on a light and a small fan. He has recently combined the Slingbox and TiVo to help his daughter watch TV shows live from the United States.
