Infosys Foundation USA and Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford Unite to Ignite Passion for STEAM Education with 2nd Annual STEAM Fair

Hartford, CT – March 21, 2024

Infosys Foundation USA, a non-profit organization dedicated to expanding computer science, maker, and STEM education, in continued collaboration with Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford (BGCH), are thrilled to host the 2024 STEAM Fair. This exciting event is set to take place on March 28th, 2024, at the BGCH South End Club in Hartford, CT.

In their fifth year of collaboration, Infosys Foundation USA and Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford aim to inspire and engage students in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) disciplines. The fair will provide an interactive platform for students to explore hands-on activities, display their projects, and engage with professionals from various STEAM fields.

Serving as the corporate social responsibility arm of the technology company Infosys Ltd., the Foundation connected local Hartford Infosys employees who volunteered their time to serve as mentors to Boys & Girls Clubs members, providing constructive feedback on the projects they will be presenting at the STEAM Fair.

Additionally, the STEAM Fair will feature interactive exhibits and workshops, allowing students to participate in engaging, educational activities that showcase the real-world applications of STEAM concepts. Students will also have the unique opportunity to interact with professionals and experts from diverse STEAM backgrounds, providing valuable insights into potential career paths and igniting a passion for future exploration.

"We are thrilled to continue our impactful collaboration with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford to bring the 2024 STEAM Fair to the community. This exciting event aligns with our commitment to empowering CT students with the knowledge and skills needed to excel in a future that is technology-enabled. The work of the BGCH leadership and STEAM professionals are opening imaginations and laying a foundation for young minds to think about limitless possibilities for their future. We look forward to the showcase of Hartford student talent. If last year was any indication of what is to come, we are in for an amazing event!" said Katherine Maloney, Executive Director, Infosys Foundation USA.

Sam Gray, President & CEO, Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford, said, “We encourage our youth to create and expand their horizons through STEAM programming. We included STEAM as one of our six program pillars because we recognize the value that it serves in helping all youth reach their full potential on the path to a great future. Thank you to Infosys Foundation USA for their support in helping our students realize all they can accomplish with a quality STEAM education.”

“I am thrilled that our Foundation has enabled the Hartford Boys & Girls Clubs STEAM Fair for the second year in a row. As the leader of the local Infosys team, I have had the chance to witness firsthand not only the energy in the room when we launched this program; but, more importantly, the magic that these programs open up to our local youth throughout the year. Our Hartford team is proud that Infosys is making its mark on the community, via our Foundation and could not endorse more the power of technology and STEAM to open doors of opportunity for our city’s youth,” said Jeff Aucker, Infosys Hartford Tech and Innovation Lead.
