Allstate-Infosys testing framework is a best practice: Celent
Allstate Financial partnered with Infosys to develop a testing framework for consistent quality in delivery and adherence through control mechanisms.
The company provides life insurance, retirement and investment products, and supplemental accident and health insurance products to individual and institutional customers.
Allstate Financial’s Centralized Quality Services (CQS) team sought a testing framework to enhance production quality, accelerate time-to-market, increase resource capacity, improve return on equity and achieve cost efficiency.
Infosys developed a testing framework that enabled repeatable processes and enhanced the satisfaction of business partners. The framework ensured process standardization across testing activities, introduced a shared resource model and identified key quality factors.
The testing framework achieved business goals by leveraging Quality Center for test management, Quick Test Pro for automated testing, LoadRunner to identify performance bottlenecks, Windows SharePoint Services for knowledge management and Microsoft Excel tools for monitoring resource utilization and generation of weekly status reports.
The testing framework increased the efficiency of testing efforts by 17% and reduced the overall cost per hour by US$ 15 per resource. In addition, the framework increased regression testing coverage by almost 20% and improved resource utilization by cross-training 10% of the resources.
Celent, a research and advisory firm, recognized Allstate Financial’s testing framework as a “Model Carrier Component” in establishing a lasting foundation for IT management across projects.
