A Work Allocation Language with Soft Constraints

This report defines a workflow allocation language with hard and soft constraints and explains the requirements and constraints that led to the current design. This language can be used with most business processes and workflow languages. A high-degree of parameterization makes it possible for the language to be used with virtually any process language.

Using Process Execution Data in Application Support

This paper is based on research on using process execution data for assessing the priority and impact of application incidents (trouble tickets) on strategic business goals. The research aims at identifying the impact of the incident using the business process execution data and process definition. The research is still in progress with respect to refinement of the models.

Web services and flexible business processes: towards the adaptive enterprise

The full potential of the expected role of Information Technology (IT) in facilitating organizational adaptation has not yet been realized because most of the existing systems do not lend themselves to the levels of flexibility required to support changes in business processes. This problem is accentuated with increase of inter-organizational linkages involving disparate IT systems. Web services have emerged as a disruptive technology, with a real potential of enabling flexible business processes. This paper examines the influence of Web services on business process flexibility and analyses its impact on organizational adaptation.
