The Solution

A best-in-class digital workplace that will make the workforce future-ready

In early 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic posed restrictions on the roll-outs due to lockdowns and related factors, translating into considerable risk. The Infosys team, through quick and innovative thinking, was able to successfully provide robust alternate solutions to complete the deployment within targeted timelines while accomplishing the client’s goals.

What did we do?

  • Designed a Remote Unattended Deployment Model and Process by establishing a Migration Desk leveraging Hands & Feet partner
  • Leveraged Microsoft’s Device Management tools like System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) and Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT) to stage and deploy devices at scale, and used MFA and BitLocker for Security
  • Partnered with client’s OCM team and developed effective communication and change management mechanisms that ensured competent experience and expectation management for end-users
  • Tailored the warehouse process to enable users’ remote log-in without caching their credentials and shipped the devices directly to Users’ Home Addresses.
  • Established robust processes to handle backlogs and exceptions
  • Implemented different cost control measures like shared pool for support across attended and unattended deployment, capacity-Based support models
  • Implemented innovative model for device returns by providing users multiple options to get their old devices back to the warehouse and getting them de-commissioned in a timely manner

Rapid deployment of a scalable and comprehensive solution

  • Leverage a private cloud-based off-net packaging factory setup to ensure zero defects
  • Implement an unattended remote deployment model to minimize on premise footprint
  • Utilize solution accelerators and lifecycle management solutions to provide enhanced features and more flexibility for operating system deployment
