Collaborative Inventory Practices

A global electronics product company wanted to improve its product availability across major regions of the world. In order to achieve this, the company needed better visibility into its global network, a robust collaboration model with partners and smart deployment of technology.

 

AMR Research published a success story on how the electronics major developed a collaboration methodology for inventory management, product fulfillment and replenishment with Infosys' help.

 

The initial pilot project demonstrated the scalability and feasibility within a few weeks. The pilot project also effected a decrease in stockouts from roughly 40% to less than 1%, an increase of 40% in sales during the period, an increase of 2% in market share and an increase of 1% in net-per-unit sales price, with potential of achieving annualized net gains in millions for the OEM.

 

The next step for the OEM is a broader deployment of these collaborative processes.
