The trees of tomorrow are in the seeds of today

Infosys’ Bangalore Development Center (DC) conducted an afforestation program and planted more than 100,000 trees in September 2009.

Green Connect, Infosys’ environmental sustainability unit, partnered with Al.Tech Foundation, a not-for-profit trust that develops innovative technologies for water and energy conservation. As part of the Green-on-Roll drive, the Foundation initiated Infoscions and their families into the seed ball technique of afforestation.

Infosys volunteers molded seed balls and scattered them in the Devarabetta forest at Dodaballapur, identified by the Forest Department, Government of Karnataka.

Infoscions created awareness about reusing waste products through a poster and banner campaign. The Board of Directors of Infosys pledged its support to the afforestation drive, which will be emulated by Infosys DCs worldwide.
