Infosys Recognised as a Top Employer in the 2021 India Workplace Equality Index (IWEI), Wins Silver for LGBT + Inclusion

Infosys has been recognized as a ‘Silver’ Top Employer at the India Workplace Equality Index (IWEI) 2021.

This ‘Silver’ recognition was awarded to Infosys for significant achievements in promoting LGBT+ inclusion at the workplace, demonstrating progress and impact over time.

The IWEI is a comprehensive benchmarking tool for India's employers to measure progress on Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender (LGBT+) equality and inclusion in the workplace. The IWEI empowers organizations to navigate the challenges of embedding LGBT+ inclusion and provides them with a clear roadmap to follow.

The index examines nine key areas and gives corporates in India an opportunity to evaluate their position on the inclusion spectrum and commit to creating a more inclusive workplace for the LGBT+ workforce. The nine areas of employment policy and practice that were explored were policies and benefits, employee life cycle, employee resource group, allies and role models, senior leadership, monitoring, procurement, community engagement, and additional in-country work.

The IWEI 2021 saw 72 organizations participating across 15 sectors. Each entrant compiled a submission demonstrating their organization’s performance against a set of best-practice criteria accompanied by supporting evidence.

As a signatory to the UN Standard of Conduct for Businesses on Tracking Discriminations against LGBTQIA+ people, Infosys encourages and maintain an inclusive workplace for members of the LGBTQIA+ community.
