Infosys Foundation is committed to the communities in which it operates. Established in 1996, the Infosys Foundation was established to support the less privileged sections of society, create opportunities, and strive towards a more equitable society. The Foundation works in the areas of education, rural development, healthcare, arts and culture, and destitute care; collaborating with all sections of society and selecting projects with great care. It also helps preserve certain cultural forms and dying arts of India.
Infosys Foundation USA is a non-profit organization focused on bridging the digital divide in America. It aims to give children, young adults, and workers across the United States the skills they need to become not just consumers, but creators of technology. The Infosys Foundation USA supports computer science education and training, with the belief that technology and learning can empower every citizen. The Infy Maker Awards program encourages today’s makers at schools and in communities to become the next generation of inventors.
The Foundation instituted the Infosys Prize, an annual award, to honor outstanding researchers in the areas of engineering and computer science, humanities, life sciences, mathematical sciences, physical sciences and social sciences. Each award carries a prize of US$100,000. The Infosys Prize endeavors to elevate the prestige of science and research in India and inspire young Indians to choose a vocation in research.
