Head of GBS Europe Akzo Nobel N.V.
Simone Noordegraaf joined Akzo Nobel N.V., a EUR 15 billion coating and chemicals multinational, in 2016 as the Head of GBS Europe. Simone has more than 25 years of professional experience in diverse global roles and is currently located in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
Previously, Simone was the Head of Accounting Operations for Philips Electronics, leading the global finance back office through a hybrid shared services model with around 1,700 Philips employees in more than 50 countries and a relationship with Infosys for outsourced services. Simone joined Philips in Andover, USA, as the Chief Auditor for the Healthcare sector. Prior to joining Philips in 2009, Simone had a 10-year career with Royal Dutch Shell N.V. where she held several financial management positions in diverse areas, including financial management and planning, value-based management, financial advisory functions, process design and engineering, project and program management, acquisitions and divestments, and post-merger integration. Prior to Shell, she lived and worked in the Netherlands for Ernst & Young as Audit Manager.
Simone was born in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Simone holds a BS in Accountancy, an MS in Accountancy, and an MS in Information Management from universities in the Netherlands. She is a Certified Internal Auditor and a “Register Accountant” (Dutch version of “CPA”). In addition, Simone is also a Certified Professional Coach with IPEC and is a member of the International Coaching Federation. Her passion for coaching has led her on a path to seek a deeper understanding of drivers of human behavior and the coaching process, and develop herself more deeply into this area. She is very interested in the topic of lifelong learning, both for herself and for the teams she leads.
