Workshop on Advances in Model-Based Software Engineering (AMBSE)

Co-located with 3rd India Software Engineering Conference

The workshop on Advances in Model-Based Software Engineering (AMBSE) focuses on theoretical and practical aspects of model-based software engineering. The workshop aims to bring together global researchers and practitioners from both academia and industry.

Date: February 25-27, 2010

Authors are invited to submit original, high-quality research submissions on the following topics of interest but are not limited to the topics mentioned below:

  • Domain-specific modeling
  • Executable models and tool support
  • Extracting models from software artifacts (e.g., program understanding)
  • Formal specification and verification of models
  • Industrial case studies and reports
  • Integration of different models
  • Knowledge and semantic preserving transformations between models and meta-models
  • Meta-modeling
  • Model evolution and maintenance
  • Model management, model refinement, model transformation and re-engineering
  • Model-based analysis
  • Model-based approach to COTS systems, SOA-based systems
  • Model-based assurance of extra-functional requirements
  • Model-based evolution of software systems
  • Model-based testing, verification and validation
  • Modeling languages
  • Models and automatic code generation techniques, product line architecture and value-based software engineering
  • Models compositions
  • Quality assurance for models
  • Tool support
  • Traceability between models at various level of abstractions
  • Use of models for downstream activities (e.g., generating test cases, using models at runtime)

Submission of papers
We invite technical papers describing original and unpublished results of conceptual, empirical, and experimental software engineering research. Papers describing ‘Industry Experience’ are especially welcome. Our goal is to provide a forum for researchers and practitioners from both academia and industry to meet and share cutting-edge advancements in the field of software engineering.

Research papers

Papers must be written in a scientifically rigorous manner with adequate references to related work. Submitted papers must not be previously published or be under consideration for publication elsewhere and must not be simultaneously submitted in an extended form or in a shortened form to other journals or conferences. Authors must adhere to all submission procedures of the 3rd India Software Engineering Conference.

Experience reports

We also encourage people to submit the experience reports. Experience reports can be submitted in any format and no restriction on the length.

The selected papers in CD form will be distributed to all the participants of the workshop and conference. We are also in talks with some of the publishers to bring the proceedings in digital form and/or publish the extended versions of the selected papers in their journals.
