Topic:CPO’s Dilemma - Outsource vs. In-Source
Date:November 12, 2009
Speaker:Ravi Panchanadan, Global Practice Head - Sourcing and Procurement/SCM, Infosys BPO
Globally, companies are focusing on lean initiatives. Outsourcing some of your operations can be beneficial if you are able to maintain quality and performance control and instill a mindset for constant improvement within your organization and partners.
- Outsource lost or non-strategic procurement capabilities, keeping enough intelligence in-house to manage the outsourced capability
- Adopt technology, key metrics and tools to effectively manage and optimize your outsourced functions and services
- Ensure your outsourcing strategy drives sustainable value within your organization
Ravi Panchanadan has more than 18 years of post-PGDM experience in Supply Chain Management functions. He focuses on global sourcing, logistics and FMCG distribution and planning. At Infosys BPO, he is responsible for setting up a robust Sourcing and Procurement (S&P) unit. He aims to transform the unit from a traditional BPO offering to a value-added one by introducing large components of differentiated processes such as platforms, category management, spends and contract management.
