Infosys Labs: At the heart of innovation

Infosys is poised to become an innovation partner to clients based on the intellectual property (IP) developed by Software Engineering and Technology Labs (Infosys Labs), its research arm. In the current fiscal year, Infosys filed more than 100 patent applications in the U.S. and India.

In an interview with Livemint.com, Subu Goparaju, President, Infosys Labs, says that the IP generated helps clients innovate in operational efficiencies, and develop new products and solutions. Infosys Labs enables clients to enhance software engineering efficiency through its products such as Mantra, Radiant and InFlux. He adds that the focus areas in research include convergence, knowledge engineering, grid computing, and virtualization.

Economictimes.com reports how Infosys capitalizes on its research and development (R&D) capabilities to win multi-year transformational deals. Infosys has expanded several customer engagements by conducting 'innovation work-outs'. At these work-outs, specific business problems are addressed by delivering solutions such as real-time business intelligence.
