Kris Gopalakrishnan in the United Nations Global Compact Board

Infosys Co-Founder and Executive Co-Chairman Kris Gopalakrishnan has been appointed as a member of the reconstituted United Nations Global Compact Board for three years.

The Global Compact Board is the UN’s highest level advisory body, involving business, civil society, labor and employers organizations. It is the UN’s central interface to the private sector.

Kris will be a part of the 31-member team that represents all regions of the world and a wide range of industry sectors. The members will advise the Secretary-General on the rapidly evolving UN-business partnership agenda.

The Global Compact currently leads a system-wide effort to build a portfolio of professional partnership services that includes matching, monitoring and evaluation, as well as acceleration of effective partnerships to reach further scale.

The new Global Compact Board will meet for the first time on June 21 in Rio de Janeiro, in connection with the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (Rio+20).
