Infosys Bags Rajasthan Export Award
Infosys announced that it has been awarded the prestigious Rajasthan Export Award for the year 2014-15 for its excellent performance in the IT sector exports from the state. The Award was conferred by Hon’ble Industry Minister, Government of Rajasthan, Shri Rajpal Singh Shekhawat, in Jaipur on September 17, 2017.
Infosys started its operations in Jaipur with BPO services in 2006, followed by IT services in 2011. Today, the company operates out of 190+ acre campus in Mahindra World City and employs 2,000 employees, providing state-of-the-art IT solutions to its international clients. Apart from growing its exports by 39% YoY in fiscal 2014–2015, the Jaipur development center also contributed significantly towards environmental conservation across its material aspects – energy, water, emissions and waste. The Jaipur DC operations are certified with ISO 9001, ISO14001, OHSAS 18001, ISO 22301 and ISO/IEC 27001.
Rajasthan is traditionally renowned for exports of handicrafts, gems and jewellery, dimensional stones, agro products and textile products. The other major contributor to service exports from the State is the IT and ITeS sector. Exports from this sector have increased from Rs. 1,172 crore in FY13 to Rs. 2,305 crore in FY16, contributing 0.3% to national exports. The Government of Rajasthan has identified exports as one of the thrust areas. The State Export Promotion Policy can provide a unified approach to realization of the State’s export potential.
