Infosys Chandigarh Successfully Completes Digital Makeathon

Competition focused on three emerging disruptive technologies – AI, IOT & Blockchain

Chandigarh – October 31, 2018: Infosys Chandigarh successfully concluded the Infosys Digital Makeathon, a competition aimed at bridging the gap between industry and academia on emerging disruptive technologies. This competition provided a unique platform for developers, designers, ideators, architects and mentors to come together, brainstorm, and create innovative theme-based solutions on three focussed technologies - Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Internet of Things (IoT) and Blockchain

As part of the Makeathon, nine teams from the top engineering colleges in North India participated in the competition over October 25 and 26, 2018 at the Infosys Chandigarh Development Center (DC). Each team comprised one faculty member and four students. The participating teams engaged in expert talks, walk-throughs of pre-defined use cases on AI, IoT and Blockchain and solution design discussions, followed by a theme-based competition. Participants were allowed to select any of the three themes depending on their area of interest and expertise.

Dr. Sarit K Das , Director, IIT Ropar was the Chief Guest at the event. The event jury included Mr. Joseph Jude, CTO, Net Solutions and Mr. Abhishek Goyal, Vice President and DC Head Infosys Chandigarh and other senior executives from Infosys who evaluated the solutions on pre-defined parameters and identified the winner. Mr. Abhinav Dhall, Assistant Professor, IIT Ropar also delivered an Extert Talk on Emotional Artificial Intelligence.

The winning team was from Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Patiala. The team presented a solution to detect Real Time Fraud Analytics and received a Winning Trophy and a gift voucher of INR 20,000. The members of the winning team were -

The first runner-up team was Delhi Technogical University, Delhi which received a Runner-Up Trophy and gift voucher of INR 15,000 and the second runner-up team was Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology, Delhi which received Second Runner-Up Trophy and a gift voucher of INR 10,000.
