Infosys Bangalore DC Celebrates Shruti Mahotsav

Bengaluru – March 29, 2019: Infosys Bangalore Development Center (DC) organized ‘Shruti Mahotsav’, a two-day musical fiesta to celebrate the 20th year milestone of ‘Shruti’, the classical music group of Infosys. The event which was hosted at the Infosys campus on March 27 and 28 was aimed at promoting Indian traditions, culture and music, and received overwhelming response.

Eminent personalities including Mrs. Sudha Murty, Chairperson, Infosys Foundation, Mrs. Vani Sateesh, noted Carnatic classical vocalist and Mr. Vijay Prakash, renowned singer and composer, were the chief guests.

The celebration gave both aspiring and accomplished artists among Infoscions a platform to showcase their talent. A unique Carnatic – Hindustani music jugalbandi performance by renowned flautist Mr. Ronu Majumdar and Mr. Mysore Manjunath, a prominent Indian violinist, was also a key highlight.

Infosys also organized many other activities such as Run for Music - a musical run as well as competitions involving short stories, photography and a contest for Carnatic and Hindustani classical music genres organized across all DCs with the help of internal Infosys clubs. Stalls displaying books and musical instruments were also set up.

Infosys has always encouraged art and culture, and supported sustenance of several art forms. The classical music group, Shruti at Infosys was founded with the aim of encouraging musical talent, promoting Indian classical music, tradition and culture among Infoscions.
