Green efforts win accolades at the National Energy Conservation Awards 2012

Infosys has been awarded the National Energy Conservation Award 2012 for its energy conservation efforts at the company’s campus in Jaipur and Pune. Our BPO building at Jaipur has won the first prize in the BPO buildings category. We have also won the second prize in the office buildings category for our two buildings in Pune.

The National Energy Conservation Awards are instituted by the Government of India, Ministry of Power. The awards recognize innovations and achievements for efficient utilization and conservation of energy in various sectors including industries, buildings, aviation, and municipalities among others.

Honorable President of India Pranab Mukherjee presented the awards at a function to commemorate the National Energy Conservation Day on December 14.

Infosys BPO Pune eco-friendly buildings won second prize BPO building

The winning buildings have set high benchmarks for energy conservation. These buildings incorporate a host of energy saving features including insulated walls, energy-efficient lighting design with sensor-based fixtures, energy-efficient and optimized HVAC systems, building management systems, and high-performance glass among others.

The Infosys BPO building at Jaipur is also the first Infosys building to win the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Platinum rating from the Indian Green Business Council. The LEED green building system is an internationally accepted benchmark for design, construction and operation of high-performance green buildings.
