A Day in the Life of an Infosys Labs Researcher: IP and Eureka Moments

Infosys helps global customers capitalize on emerging technologies by creating Intellectual Property (IP) and building platforms for new products, services and solutions through Software Engineering and Technology Labs (Infosys Labs). In an interview with The Financial Express, Subrahmanyam Goparaju, Vice President and Head of Infosys Labs, discusses how Infosys' research arm has created an ecosystem of research and innovation to address the business challenges of customers.

He traces the origins of Infosys Labs when it was a technology competence center focused on engineering effectiveness for project delivery. Later, Infosys’ business units partnered with Infosys Labs to develop solutions based on indigenous platforms. Today, the main thrust is on developing IP that provides solutions such as Finacle mobile banking and data masking.
