Infosys Announces Sponsorship of GE Brilliant Hacks

Infosys (NYSE: INFY), a global leader in consulting, technology, outsourcing and next-generation services, today announced it is a key sponsor of GE’s Brilliant Hacks online hackathon, which focuses on developing applications and microservices for GE Digital’s Brilliant Manufacturing Suite on the Predix platform, an operating system for the Industrial Internet.

Through May 8, the hackathon challenges developers to create connected Industrial Internet of Things apps that help manufacturers monitor their plants. Participants may build apps, product extensions or data visualizations that provide deeper insight into the manufacturing process, enabling plant managers to predict, adapt and react for maximum efficiency. These solutions may help shape the future of manufacturing in industries such as aviation, healthcare, chemicals, pharmaceuticals and automobiles.

GE Brilliant Hacks is rewarding participants $50,000 in cash prizes along with GE executive meetings and trips to the Predix Transform 2017 conference in Las Vegas. Thirty finalists will advance to the Build Round and receive access to a hackathon-only Predix environment to build their application and compete with an elite pool of other makers for the $50,000 prize pot.

GE’s Brilliant Manufacturing Suite enables companies to monitor and measure a plant’s manufacturing performance data, including equipment effectiveness and machine statistics; view work orders, parts, and scheduling data; and understand real-time production data including production goals, quality, throughput and lead time.
