ADA signs contract with Infosys for transfer of AUTOLAY software

The Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) announced that it has signed an agreement with Infosys Technologies Ltd (NASDAQ:INFY), for transferring AUTOLAY software product along with the associated Intellectual Property Rights. This path breaking initiative is aimed at leveraging the technology and R&D base of the Government of India for commercial purposes.

AUTOLAY, a commercial product used in high performance structural systems, is an integrated automated software system for design and development of 3 - D laminated composite components. Infosys will further develop the AUTOLAY software, enhancing its features to interface with other related tools and programs as well as increase applicability in related areas. Infosys will use the AUTOLAY software for client projects and applications and has the mandate to commercialize the product globally.

"We look forward for private industry participation in taking those cutting edge technologies to the world market and making them commercially successful."

The AUTOLAY software, one of the several spin offs from LCA technologies, has earned good revenues for ADA in the past seven years. With increasing acceptability of composites in several engineering applications in Aerospace and Automotive sectors, the AUTOLAY software is poised for greater success in the years to come.
