Top US schools visit India to understand the success story of Flat World companies like Infosys

Infosys Technologies Limited (NASDAQ: INFY), a world leader in consulting and information technology services, today announced that two leading US schools visited its campus on a single day to understand and learn what it takes to succeed in a globally connected world.

India is today emerging as an important learning economy for the best business and engineering schools the world over. The learning spans success stories in the areas of technology, management, emerging markets ethos, corporate social responsibility and entrepreneurship among others.

Commenting during the interactions at the Infosys campus, President. David Skorton said, "Expanding the vibrant partnership Cornell's enjoys with academic and other institutions in India is essential to our aspirations. As the new president of Cornell University, my first priority is to explore with India's leaders, government, business, research and the academy which new areas offer the greatest potential for collaboration among our faculty and opportunity for our students."

"Upon my return to Ithaca, NY, I plan to make recommendations to our faculty to consider, including dialogue among our institutions, training and exchanges. I am confident that a series of additional visits and contacts among Cornell and Indian faculty and researchers will get underway as early as in the next couple of months", he added.

Students from the Stanford GSB said they benefited from the interactions with Infosys since, as global managers in the making, they appreciate the opportunity to learn from the pioneers of the Global Delivery Model. Speaking on their interest in Infosys, Sarah Smith, a student of Stanford GSB, said, "A company like Infosys embodies the success story of an emerging economy like India. This visit allowed me and my classmates to speak to the progenitors of the Global Delivery Model and understand what it takes to be the future."

Mr. N. R. Narayana Murthy, Chairman of the Board and Chief Mentor, Infosys Technologies and Mrs. Sudha Murty, Chairperson, Infosys Foundation interacted with the students from Stanford GSB. The interactions allowed the faculty members and students to gain exposure to the "new world" and understand what it takes to work and succeed in a globally connected world. The discussion also touched upon entrepreneurship in India and its prospects. Mrs. Murty spoke to the group on the importance of imbibing a strong value system that can guide them in their chosen career path.
