Infosys Employees Donate JPY 20,105,541 (US $259,695) To Support Tohoku Earthquake Victims
Donation Made Globally by 133,500 Employees Towards Relief Efforts in Three Affected Prefectures
Japan, Tokyo - September 12, 2011: Infosys Limited (NASDAQ: INFY) today announced a donation of JPY 20,105,541 (US$ 259,695) towards relief and rebuilding efforts for the victims of the 2011 earthquake off the Pacific coast of Tohoku in Japan. The contributions have been made voluntarily by 133,500 Infosys employees belonging to 88 different nationalities from across the globe.
Infosys Limited has donated the contributions to three affected prefectures including:
- JPY 6,701,847 (US $86,565) transferred to "Iwate no Manabi Kibo Kikin Jigyo" (Iwate Hope for Learning Fund), to be used to support Tsunami orphans.
- JPY 6,701,847 (US $86,565) transferred to Miyagi Prefectural Disaster Headquarter.
- JPY 6,701,847 (US $86,565) transferred to Fukushima Prefectural Disaster Headquarter.
