Vice President, Internal IT Services (IITS), Comcast

Mr. Brown is VP of Internal IT Services (IITS) at Comcast, the nation’s largest video, high-speed Internet and phone provider to residential & commercial customers under the XFINITY brand. Derek works within the T&P (Technology & Products) Organization under the Systems Engineering umbrella. He is responsible for providing seamless IT services for over 100K Comcast employees throughout the enterprise both domestic and international. Derek is chartered with owning the employee customer experience through management of communications platforms, including digital collaboration, video enablement, mobility and end-user support. Teams that fall under IITS include Enterprise Services, Unified Communications, Client Services, SupportNow Service Desk and Hospitality Services. Key areas of responsibility include technical operations and support of corporate and key critical back-office systems such as Voice & Video services, Enterprise email(Messaging), End-user Desktop Support, Mobility Services, Executive Concierge Services, and IT Procurement & Vendor Management.

Prior to Comcast, Derek worked for Unisource, an international paper, packaging and facility supplies company where he was VP over Enterprise Infrastructure. Derek also has an extensive Big 5 consulting background where he worked for Anderson Consulting (Accenture) over an 11 year period focusing on Network Architectures, Data Center Operations and IT Service Management. Derek also served in the US Army where he attained the rank of Sergeant while serving in the 1st Armored Division in Germany.

Derek is based out of Comcast’s Corporate Headquarters in downtown Philadelphia. He is originally from Detroit Michigan (Motown) and interests include fitness training, outdoor activities and international travel.
