Shaida Lynch, Vice President of Business Technology for Discover Financial Services, is responsible for the Application Development and Systems Support for the Banking and Lending businesses at Discover.

Shaida’s experience includes progressive increase in responsibilities within the Business Technology department at Discover. In her current position, Shaida led the multi-year project to replace the core banking platform for Discover Bank, with an internally hosted application, Finacle. The project was implemented in May, 2014 for Deposits, and February, 2016 for Personal Lending. The Finacle product was successfully integrated with 50+ internal Discover applications including a new internally developed Call Center application, Atlas, which provides 360 degree customer view for the Banking agents and Personal Lending agents.

In addition to her banking technology experience, Shaida was previously responsible for the Discover Card Operations technology teams, which included the Authorizations, Security, Collections, and Card Call Center applications.

Shaida was promoted to her current position from director of the Card Marketing Project Management department, which managed all strategic Card Marketing projects, including the launch of Small Business Card, and the Miles Card.

Shaida joined Discover in March of 1999 as a team lead in the Discover Card Core processing department. Shaida was a key contributor on the Discover card core processing platform rewrite project, Cardmember Posting and Billing, which is still in use today. Prior to joining Discover, Shaida worked at ProAlliance Corporation, as a technology consultant.

Under Shaida’s leadership, Discover won the Celent Model Bank Award in March of 2015 for Legacy/Ecosystem Transformation in Banking. The Model Bank awards are to recognize aspirational applications of technology in banks. Discover won for the implementation of the new banking platform in 2014. This project was also recognized as the winner of CIO Magazine’s 2015 CIO 100 award. The CIO 100 award honors companies that develop information technology initiatives that drive measurable business results.

Shaida is a board member for the Omni Youth Services organization. Omni is a comprehensive youth development organization whose mission is to partner with parents and community to provide innovative transformational and educational support services to teens and young adults.

Shaida earned two Bachelor of Arts degrees from Brown University, in Philosophy and Political Science. She also earned a Juris Doctor degree, from Loyola University Law School.
