May 23 - 25
Moscone West, 800 Howard Street, San Francisco
Infosys Confluence, our flagship thought leadership summit, will be hosted at the Moscone Center West in San Francisco from May 23 to 25, 2017. It will bring together 2,000+ leaders, technology evangelists and visionary teachers to explore the future of the digital revolution and its impact on business. Creating a reverberating world of learning and sharing around purposeful automation and innovation, the event will facilitate the sharing of best practices through interactive sessions through a combination of engaging keynotes, thought-provoking panel discussions and peer-networking opportunities.
Perhaps the biggest disruption of our times is the accelerating force of technology and digitization. Everything is beginning to sense the world around and respond to it in real time. Cars can tell anxious parents if their teens are driving safely, machinery on the shop floor can alert technicians when it might break down and how to prevent that from happening, and even that innocuous toothbrush on your bathroom shelf can now tattle to dental insurers should you forget to brush before bed. Clearly, technology is making everything around us smarter.
This deep intermingling of bits and atoms is opening up a whole new world of possibilities, and our path forward is very clear – we need to harness the dual forces of automation and innovation.
Automation to become more productive, and with the resulting capacity focus our attention upwards towards innovation. The foundation for all of this can only be our infrastructure for life-long learning.
Although we are in the early stages of understanding how intelligent systems and people can work together more seamlessly, there is great hope that when we do achieve such a deep symbiosis, the amplification of our humanity will be immense. When technology will bring to life all that we imagine, the only task before us – perhaps our greatest responsibility even – will be to unlimit ourselves, our imaginations and be all that we can be.
Moscone West, 800 Howard Street, San Francisco
Moscone Center is the largest convention and exhibition complex in San Francisco, California. Moscone West, where Infosys Confluence 2017 will take place, is a freestanding building and is almost as large as one city block. It comprises three levels that are 110 feet above street level with about 300,000 square feet of space. Moscone West is in the heart of South of Market Area and is a short walk from hotels, restaurants and downtown Union Square.
Interesting Fact about Moscone Center: The largest city-owned solar power system in the United States is located at the Moscone Center. Covering 60,000 square feet with 5,400 solar panel systems, equivalent to the size of a football field, it generates 826,000 kWh annually. This is equivalent to power 184 homes in San Francisco for an entire year, removing 7,000 cars from the road, or not driving 88 million miles. Over the lifetime of the project, it will reduce 35,000 tons of CO2.
Confluence hosts some of the most compelling visionaries, industry thought leaders, and innovators of our times. They will bring to play ideas, thoughts, insights, and concepts that will enable your business to move beyond the rhythms of steady execution and towards exciting possibilities.

Let’s examine our own mindsets and practices. Do we believe that a leader’s job is to set direction and make sure no one deviates from it? Do we cling to the notion of a visionary leading from the front? Or do we serve as the ‘stage setter’, whose primary role is to create a context in which the team can innovate? Do we have the courage and patience required to amplify differences, even when the discussions become heated and when ambiguity and complexity loom? Our panel of leaders answer these difficult questions with candor.

How can stakeholders from government, business, and academia come together to ensure that local economies and communities prosper in a world where technological transformation is rapid, and accelerating? This session will explore the dual forces of innovation and talent: how we might collaborate to advance innovation and ensure America retains leadership for breakthrough technologies in key industries such as agriculture, healthcare and manufacturing; and how we can grow, attract and retain talent in our schools, universities and organizations by investing in education and workforce development to ensure a brighter future for generations to come. The fourth industrial revolution can be a human revolution - to achieve this we need leaders from many fields to work together to ensure that technology advances what we are capable of and creates a whole new wave of jobs, industries and experiences, just as it has done many times before.

The nature of every business follows a familiar dual pattern. Once a problem is well-articulated and solved, it becomes business-as-usual, with automation quickly taking over and commoditizing it. The enterprise, then, begins to look at new innovations to create newer ways to uncover value. And soon enough, these new things become the new business-as-usual, and companies must then bring to life the next new ideas that’ll fuel growth. Our panelists, from some the world’s most inventive tech firms, talk about how businesses can stay a step ahead of this fast-spinning ‘automation-innovation’ cycle – in very practical ways.

Beardyman, AKA Darren Foreman is a British multi-vocalist, musician, TED speaker, and a comedian. He was studying product design at Brighton University in the UK when he started beatboxing. After winning two consecutive UK Beatbox Championships, he turned to live looping (recording and playing back audio samples in real time) as a way to layer his vocal ablutions into dance-floor-rocking hour-long sets. He released his debut album in 2011 and has been rocking stages all over the world ever since.
Frustrated by not being able to sing two notes at the same time, Beardyman built a machine to allow him to create loops and layers from just the sounds he makes with his voice. Given that he can effortlessly conjure the sound of everything from crying babies to buzzing flies, not to mention mimic pretty much any musical instrument imaginable, that's a lot of different sounds. This entertaining yet thought-provoking performance isn’t merely about what's possible with the human voice. It’s about what’s possible when the human voice meets technology. Sit back and let the wall of sound of this dazzling performance wash over you.
