Chiyo Robertson

Senior Business Journalist and editor

Chiyo Robertson is a senior business journalist and editor with more than 20 years’ experience at international broadcasters including BBC and Sky News.

Chiyo has worked in many of the BBC’s global bureaux, including its Asia hub in Singapore, making documentaries in the US, leading World Economic Forum broadcasts in Davos and covering major European stories including the euro’s launch, 2008 financial crisis and Brexit.

She played a key role in shaping BBC global business programmes as editor of World Business TV shows, launching a Middle East Business studio in Dubai and leading multi-platform digital content initiatives.

Chiyo has moderated panels at WEF, Davos and COP26, Glasgow for governments and companies including UN Women, European Investment Bank,Infosys, EY, Salesforce and Dentsu.

Before starting her journalism career, Chiyo graduated from the University of London with a degree in Medical Biochemistry.

Chiyo is a mother of three, a keen rower, mentor at Media Trust charity and recently completed an AI Skills Bootcamp at the University of Huddersfield.
