Frans van der Horst (1959) has a Business Economics background

After holding a number of positions within ABN in the branch network he switched to Fortis where he was finally global COO of the Retail Banking Business (Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Turkey, Poland, Spain, The Netherlands and Ireland). In 2007 he became vice chairman of the Managing Board of Fortis Bank Netherlands and acted as COO. After the turmoil in the banking industry he moved to Senior Managing Director ABN AMRO Bank N.V., responsible for global Operations, Facility Management Services and Procurement.

February 2014 he is Group Chief Information Officer of ABN AMRO. After a intensive period of separating and integrating ABN AMRO is now fully focused on its future again.

Since February 2017 he is appointed as member of the Executive Committee and CEO Retail Bank.
