Oliver Kahn, born in Karlsruhe in 1969, began playing football at Karlsruher SC when he was six. In 1994 he moved to Bayern Munich as goalkeeper. The change became the most expensive goalkeeper transfer in Bundesliga history. True to his motto: "Keep on going!", Oliver Kahn grew up to become one of the most successful German football pros of all times and became the most successful German goalkeeper par excellence: 8x German Champion, 6x DFB Cup winner and 2001 Champions League win. He was named World Goalkeeper of the Year 3 times and best player of the World Cup in Japan in 2002. In the summer of 2008, his 22nd year as a professional footballer, he finished an unprecedented career.
Since September 2008, Oliver Kahn has been working as a football expert for international matches and the Champions League for ZDF. He founded his own foundation - the Oliver Kahn Foundation - and today he is primarily active as an entrepreneur.
At the end of 2011, Oliver Kahn successfully completed his studies in business administration with the title Master of Business Administration. Motivation and leadership are central themes that Oliver Kahn explores as an author and speaker.
In October 2016, he founded the world's first holistic goalkeeper brand named GOALPLAY. In August 2019 Oliver Kahn signed a five-year contract, which will enter into force on January 1, 2020. With the expiration of the contract of Karl-Heinz Rummenigge on December 31, 2021 Oliver Kahn takes over from him the office of CEO.
