Greg Adamson

Associate Professor & Enterprise Fellow Cyber Security, University of Melbourne School of Engineering

Originally a data communications engineer, Greg joined the University of Melbourne in 2017 after eight years with ANZ Bank’s Transaction Banking, leading first line operation risk including cyber security. He has worked in cyber security since establishing the cyber security practice at the Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service in 1993. Greg has a multi-disciplinary PhD in e-business from RMIT University. He headed Fujitsu’s e-business consulting practice in Scotland in 2000, and has also worked with blockchain since 2014. He volunteers in ethics and technology, as chair of the IEEE’s global Ethics and Member Conduct Committee, as an editor of the IEEE Ethically Aligned Design statement on ethics and AI, and as Technical Activities Vice-President for the IEEE Society on Social Implications of Technology. He is currently studying an LLM part-time at the Melbourne Law School.
