He is Head of the Department of Human-Centred Computing. His main interests are in assistive technologies for people with vision impairment and data visualisation.

Accessible graphics. I am currently exploring how new technologies like AR/VR, AI and 3D printing can be used to present graphical content to people who are blind or vision impaired.

Data visualisation & immersive analytics. Much of my recent research has focused on developing new visualisations and layout algorithms for data visualisation, particularly networks, and exploring how emerging mixed reality display and interaction technologies can be used to enhance data understanding and decision making.
