The MCG is more than just a sports venue. It is a place where memories are made, and childhood dreams come alive. There are fleeting moments at the ‘G that stay with you forever. Ask any Victorian and they will be aware of the Melbourne Cricket Ground’s status as the home of sport.

The MCG is Australia’s largest and undoubtably most well-known sports venue. Home to the AFL Grand Final and boasting a capacity of over 100,000, the Melbourne venue is home to several Melbourne based AFL teams. The MCG hosted its first AFL grand final in 1902, with 35,000 people turning up to watch Collingwood beat Essendon.

The MCG has been the home of Australian football since 1859.
