  • When the System Works at Scale: Alyssa Alvarado on Real Jobs Rhode Island

    October 29, 2026

Insights

  • In 10 years Real Jobs Rhode Island has trained nearly 69,000 people and worked with about 6,000 companies, at roughly $3,225 a person. In a state with a 500,000-person workforce, that is a sector approach operating at real scale.
  • Real Jobs works as a platform and a strategy that thousands of training programs run on. Employer-led partnerships and cooperative agreements keep the work driven by what companies actually need to hire.
  • Real Jobs braids federal, state, and other funds around each trainee, which only works because a data system tracks eligibility and outcomes. That rigor makes the state reliable enough that employers build their hiring around the program.
